Why lead here

Mission

Engaging Minds, Nurturing Hearts, Shaping God's World.

Culture

ACS educates through relationship. The strong bond between staff and students is one of our greatest strengths.

Deeply Rooted, Boldly Leading

ACS has just launched its 2026-2031 strategic plan, shaped by its community. Nearly 75 years of deep roots, a firm foundation, and a team of leaders and staff ready to respond to God's call.

The team and the board

The Secondary Campus Principal serves on the educational leadership team with the Executive Director, the other campus principals and the Director of Learning Support Services. The team meets weekly and is close-knit and collaborative. Campus principals report to the school board each year and join the board at its annual retreat.

Support

A strong secondary administrative team of experienced vice principals, athletic directors and learning support coordinators. ACS belongs to a provincial network of Christian schools with regular networking and professional development for leaders, and offers intentional, robust mentoring and transition support.

Campus and community

An excellent, committed teaching staff, a strong student and parent community, and recently renovated and expanded facilities. Staff and families are deeply committed to educating through a biblical worldview. ACS meets each student where they are, as a unique image bearer of God, through a wide array of programming led by passionate educators.

Life in Abbotsford

Known as the "city in the country," Abbotsford has all the amenities you need, with an artisan, local flavour. Vancouver is close, and so are lakes, hiking and biking. It's a city where people put down roots, and many families here go back generations.

Who will thrive

A leader who leads with people. If supporting the ideas and passions of others brings you joy, ACS is the place for you. Thriving looks like a clear direction and priorities for ACS, while inviting and supporting the contributions of an invested team.

First-year priorities

From the Executive Director

Why is this an exciting moment for ACS?
“ACS has just launched a new strategic plan, Deeply Rooted, Boldly Leading. Our community helped shape it, and a team of excellent leaders and staff is excited to respond to God's call on ACS. We have deep roots and a firm foundation, almost 75 years of it, and we're excited to see how we can boldly lead in our community, our city and Christian education in BC.”
What does success look like after two or three years?
“A deep understanding of ACS, its mission, its Biblical worldview and its people. A vision for what's next for the secondary campus, with staff already being led into it, so that staff and students can more fully live out the mission and the strategic plan.”
What would you say to someone thinking about applying?
“Check out our website and social media. We do our best to share our most authentic self with the community. Then connect with us: apply, or pick up the phone. Our people and community are one of our greatest strengths, and you may just need to experience it to understand it.”
— Mark Thiessen, Executive Director, Abbotsford Christian School
